Statement Faith

True Light Network: Statement of Faith

As True Light Network, a Bible-believing, Christian Digital Broadcast Network, we affirm the historic truths of the Christian faith as revealed in Holy Scripture. Our broadcasting and all our activities are firmly rooted in these foundational principles:

1. The Holy Scriptures: We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the complete and final revelation of God's will for humanity and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe that God has preserved His Word through the ages and it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12)

2. The One True God: We believe in one eternally existent God, the Creator of all things, infinite in power, wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, and love. He is eternally existent in three co-equal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection, and are worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 1:1-3)

3. God the Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Father of all believers. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Psalm 103:19; Matthew 6:9; John 3:16)

4. God the Son, Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, visible return in power and glory. He is fully God and fully man, the only mediator between God and humanity. (Matthew 1:20-23; John 1:1, 14; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11; 1 Timothy 2:5)

5. God the Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is fully God, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates, indwells, seals, baptizes, and sanctifies all believers at the moment of salvation. He empowers believers for Christian living and service, distributing spiritual gifts to each believer as He wills for the building up of the church. (John 16:7-11; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

6. Humanity and Sin: We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but through Adam's disobedience, humanity fell into sin, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by birth and by choice, utterly unable to remedy their lost condition. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3)

7. Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to humanity by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Salvation is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is not by works. All who genuinely repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone are immediately regenerated by the Holy Spirit and eternally secure in Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; John 10:28-29)

8. The Church: We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ, comprising the Church, the Body of Christ. The Church is manifested in local congregations, which are autonomous and self-governing. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by worshipping Him, edifying believers, and proclaiming the Gospel to all the world. (Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 1:18; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47)

9. The Ordinances: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: water baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are not means of salvation but are symbolic acts of obedience for believers.

  • Water Baptism: Believer's baptism by immersion symbolizes the believer's identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, and is a public declaration of faith. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4

  • The Lord's Supper (Communion): This ordinance is a symbolic remembrance of Christ's broken body and shed blood, to be observed by believers until His return. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

10. The Return of Christ: We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational, and pre-millennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His Church (the Rapture) and His subsequent visible return with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom on earth. This is the blessed hope for all believers. (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:1-6)

11. The Eternal State: We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to eternal life with God in heaven, and the lost to eternal conscious punishment in hell. (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:1-8)

12. Christian Living: We believe that every believer should live a life separated from the world, in accordance with the Word of God, and strive for spiritual maturity through obedience to the Holy Spirit. We are called to love God and our neighbor, to live righteously, and to be witnesses for Christ in the world. (Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 22:37-39; Acts 1:8)
